Amidst the everyday busy city life in Bangalore, a fascinating story of empowerment and transformation takes place. 23-year-old Ubjana, who is originally from the tranquil Nepalese town of Bajura, has set off on a journey that will undoubtedly change her life as well as the lives of her family members.
In pursuit of better opportunities, Ubjana and her family relocated to Bangalore from their birthplace in Nepal. The city life had its own set of difficulties. While her spouse obtained job as a security guard, Ubjana worked as a househelp. They worked together to raise their 10-month-old daughter and provide her a better future.
Ubjana’s life took an inspiring turn when she came across the MG SocialCare Foundation, an organization committed to uplifting impoverished communities through skill development and training programs. She was part of the soap training workshop conducted by the foundation’s Director (South Division) and enthusiastic mentor Khushbu Kumari.
Under the guidance of Khushbu Kumari, Ubjana picked up the craft of soap-making quite quickly. She showed her commitment and perseverance even after the workshop was over and she started mastering the difficult process of creating exquisite, premium soaps. What started as a simple attempt to learn a new skill soon turned into a passion, and Ubjana became an expert in soap-making.
Ubjana’s hard work and perseverance paid off as a significant achievement when her first batch of soaps was completed and safely delivered to MG SocialCare’s registered office in Delhi NCR. These handmade soaps will now be included in corporate gifting programs and be sold on a variety of platforms, bringing Ubjana’s expertise to a larger audience.
